Radioactive Waste Management

The Select Committee has finished its follow-up inquiry, chaired by Lord Broers, into radioactive waste management focusing on the final report and recommendations of the Committee on Radioactive Waste Management (CoRWM), published in July 2006, and Government's response to the report published in October 2006. The inquiry's remit was, inter alia, to look at plans for implementing CoRWM's recommendations and the planned Government consultation on a geological disposal framework.

The Report was published on 3 June 2007. A press release has been issued.

The Government Response was issued on 25 June 2007. It is available as html or pdf versions.
