Terrorism and other serious crimes

The increasingly high profile of counter-terrorism activities benefits greatly from cooperation between EU Ministers and officials from Member States. Following the terrorist attacks in Madrid on 11 March 2004, the Committee published its report: After Madrid: the EU's response to terrorism, HL Paper 53. 2004-05.

Interior Mnisters of the 6 largest Member States meet every 6 months to discuss counter-terrorism and other topics of mutual interest. Their meeting in March 2006 was the subject of our report: Behind Closed Doors: the meeting of the G6 Interior Ministers at Heiligendamm, HL Paper 221, 19 July 2006.
