THEMES OF LIAISON COMMITTEE QUESTIONS TO PM ANNOUNCED
MPs on the Liaison Committee will tomorrow question the Prime Minister, Rt Hon Gordon Brown, continuing the regular twice yearly sessions the Committee holds with the PM on a range of domestic and international issues.
The evidence session will begin at 10.00 hrs tomorrow, Thursday 3 July 2008, and usually lasts for up to two and a half hours. Notice of the questions is not given to the Prime Minister, but questioning is based on a limited number of themes which are being published today, ahead of tomorrow's session, for the first time.
The questions to the Prime Minster will fall under the broad themes of:
- Constitutional renewal
- Global economic issues: oil, food and energy
- Managing the economic slowdown
- International flashpoints
The session will be held in the Boothroyd Room, Portcullis House and will be open to members of the press with Houses of Parliament passes and other passholders. A viewing room for non-passholders from the press and public will be available nearby in Portcullis House.
The Boothroyd Room is equipped with television cameras for broadcasting. The session will also be available on Parliament's internal television network and will be webcast live on
