EVIDENCE SESSIONS

The Rt Hon Lord Mackay of Clashfern KT

The Committee on the Lord Chancellor's Department will hold a public evidence session with The Rt Hon Lord Mackay of Clashfern KT on Tuesday 16 September. The session will focus on the proposed constitutional changes announced by the Government in respect of the new Supreme Court, judicial appointments and the roles previously carried out by the Lord Chancellor. The session will commence at 9.15am in the Wilson Room, Portcullis House.

Legal Services Commission

Immediately following the session with Lord Mackay, at approximately 10.00am, the Committee will hear evidence from Philip Ely OBE, Chairman, and Clare Dodgson, Chief Executive, Legal Services Commission. This session will be to examine the work of the Commission in light of the publication of its Annual Report 2002/03 and Corporate Plan 2003/04.

The Committee will make available transcripts of the sessions on its website at the earliest practicable opportunity.
