IMMIGRATION AND ASYLUM:  THE GOVERNMENT'S PROPOSED CHANGES TO PUBLICLY FUNDED IMMIGRATION AND ASYLUM WORK

The Committee will publish its Fourth Report: Immigration and Asylum:  the Government's proposed changes to publicly funded immigration and asylum work (HC 1171-I, Session 2002-03) at 00:01 on Friday 31 October.  Volume II containing the oral and written evidence will be available as HC 1171-II.

The Department for Constitutional Affairs issued a consultation paper on 5 June 2003 and the consultation completed on 27 August.  The Committee announced its inquiry on 9 October 2003 and has held two evidence sessions.  Transcripts of those sessions, along with written evidence submitted to the Committee, are already available on the Committee's website.

Copies of the Report and the evidence will be available from the Parliamentary Bookshop (12 Bridge St, Westminster, SW1A 2JX, Tel 020 7219 3890) or The Stationery Office (Parliamentary Hotline 0845 7023 474) from 7.30am on Friday 31 October. They will also appear on the Committee's website.
