29 January-3 February 2007, to Washington DC, to attend the Congressional Internet Caucus Conference, an event focussing on topics such as net neutrality, child protection online and cyber-crime, and for meetings with the Department of Justice, the FBI, the State Department and several Senators and Congressmen. Resolved, That the Committee write to the Sentencing Guidelines Council in relation to Fraud and Breaches of ASBOs.
Resolved, That the Committee take oral evidence on Sentencing Guidelines in relation to Fraud offences and breaches of ASBOs.
3. Towards Effective Sentencing
Resolved, That the Committee take oral evidence from Rt Hon Jack Straw MP, Lord Chancellor and Secretary of State for Justice on Monday 17 December.
4. Protection of Personal Data
Mr Richard Thomas, Information Commissioner, and Mr David Smith, Deputy Information Commissioner, gave oral evidence.
