1. Counter-terrorism policy and human rights

The Committee considered this matter.

Resolved, That the Committee inquire into counter-terrorism policy and human rights.

Resolved, That the Committee take evidence from the Secretary of State for the Home Department, Rt Hon Charles Clarke MP, and from representatives of the police, in connection with the inquiry into counter-terrorism policy and human rights.

Resolved, That the Committee do visit France and Spain in connection with its inquiry into counter-terrorism policy and human rights.

Ordered, That the Chairman seek the approval of the House of Commons Liaison Committee for expenditure in connection with the said visit.

Resolved, That the Committee do visit Canada in connection with its inquiry into counter-terrorism policy and human rights.

Ordered, That the Chairman seek the approval of the House of Commons Liaison Committee for expenditure in connection with the said visit.
