1. FUTURE PROGRAMME

The Committee considered this matter.

Ordered, That the Chairman write to David Hanson MP, Minister of State, Ministry of Justice about statistics on the use of restraint in secure training centres; reply to a letter from the Borders and Immigration Agency about a review of family escorts to removal; write to the Ministry of Justice about the missed deadline in relation to the implementation of a national monitoring mechanism under the UN Convention Against Torture; and write to the Home Office for clarification of the recent written ministerial statement about section 9 of the Asylum and Immigration (Treatment of Claimants)Act 2004.

2. HUMAN RIGHTS OF OLDER PEOPLE IN HEALTHCARE

Draft Report [Human Rights of Older People in Healthcare], proposed by the Chairman, brought up and read.

Ordered, That the draft Report be read a second time, paragraph by paragraph.

Paragraphs 1 to 288 read and agreed to.

Annex read and agreed to.

Summary read and agreed to.

Resolved, That the Report be the Eighteenth Report of the Committee to each House.

Several Papers were ordered to be appended to the Report.

Ordered, That the Chairman make the Report to the House of Commons and that Baroness Stern  make the Report to the House of Lords.

3. COUNTER TERRORISM POLICY AND HUMAN RIGHTS

Draft Report [Counter-Terrorism Policy and Human Rights: 28 days, intercept and post-charge questioning], proposed by the Chairman, brought up and read.

Ordered, That the draft Report be read a second time, paragraph by paragraph.

Paragraphs 1 to 217 read and agreed to.

Summary read and agreed to.

Resolved, That the Report be the Nineteenth Report of the Committee to each House.

Several Papers were ordered to be appended to the Report.
