1. SCHOOLS WHITE PAPER

Draft Report [Schools White Paper] proposed by the Chairman, brought up and read.

Ordered, That the draft Report be read a second time, paragraph by paragraph.

Paragraphs 1 to 29 read and agreed to.

Summary read and agreed to.

Resolved, That the Report be the Ninth Report of the Committee to each House.

Ordered, That the Chairman do make the Report to the House of Commons and that Lord Judd do make the Report to the House of Lords.

2. GOVERNMENT RESPONSE TO THE COMMITTEE'S THIRD REPORT

Draft Report [Government Response to the Committee's Third Report of this Session: Counter-Terrorism Policy and Human Rights: Terrorism Bill and related matters], proposed by the Chairman, brought up, read the first and second time, and agreed to.

Resolved, That the Report be the Tenth Report of the Committee to each House.

Ordered, That a paper be appended to the Report.

Ordered, That the Chairman do make the Report to the House of Commons and that Lord Judd do make the Report to the House of Lords.

3. LEGISLATIVE SCRUTINY

The Committee considered this matter.

4. SPECIALIST ADVISER ON WORKING PRACTICES

Ordered, That Francesca Klug be appointed a Specialist Adviser to assist the Committee in its examination of its working practices.
