Resolved, That the Committee inquire into a British Bill of Rights.(The Chairman.)

The Committee considered this matter.
3. RECENT COURT MARTIAL AND UNCAT
Ordered, That the Chairman write to the Secretary of State for Defence about evidence from a recent court martial and the UN Convention on Torture.

The Committee considered this matter.
5. LEGISLATIVE SCRUTINY: SEVENTH PROGRESS REPORT
Draft Report [Legislative Scrutiny: Seventh Progress Report], proposed by the Chairman, brought up and read.
Ordered, That the draft Report be read a second time, paragraph by paragraph.
Paragraphs 1.1 to 2.1 read and agreed to.
Summary read and agreed to.
Resolved, That the Report be the Fifteenth Report of the Committee to each House.
Several papers were ordered to be appended to the Report.
Ordered, That the Chairman make the Report to the House of Commons and that Baroness Stern make the Report to the House of Lords.
6. HUMAN RIGHTS POLICY
Rt Hon Lord Falconer of Thoroton QC, Lord Chancellor and Secretary of State, and Rt Hon Baroness Ashton of Upholland, Parliamentary Under-Secretary, Ministry of Justice, were examined.
