1. OLDER PERSONS IN HEALTH CARE

Professor Peter Crome, British Geriatric Society, and Pauline Ford, Royal College of Nursing, were examined.

Jenny Owen and Dwayne Johnson, Association of Directors of Social Services, and Dr Gill Morgan, NHS Confederation, were examined.

2. PRE- AND POST-LEGISLATIVE SCRUTINY

The Committee considered this matter.

3. LEGISLATIVE SCRUTINY: SIXTH PROGRESS REPORT

Draft Report [Legislative Scrutiny: Sixth Progress Report], proposed by the Chairman, brought up and read.

Ordered, That the draft Report be read a second time, paragraph by paragraph.

Paragraphs 1.1 to 2.7 read and agreed to.

Summary read and agreed to.

Resolved, That the Report be the Thirteenth Report of the Committee to each House.

Several papers were ordered to be appended to the Report.

Ordered, That the Chairman make the Report to the House of Commons and that Baroness Stern make the Report to the House of Lords.

4. GOVERNMENT REPLY TO PREVENTION OF TERRORISM ACT REPORT

Draft Report [Government Response to the Committee's Eighth Report of this Session: Counter-Terrorism Policy and Human Rights: Draft Prevention of Terrorism Act 2005 (Continuance in force of sections 1 to 9 order 2007)], proposed by the Chairman, brought up and read the first and second time, and agreed to.

Resolved, That the Report be the Fourteenth Report of the Committee to each House.

A Paper was ordered to be appended to the Report.

Ordered, That the Chairman make the Report to the House of Commons and that Baroness Stern make the Report to the House of Lords.
