Forthcoming Publication: The Council of Europe Convention on the Prevention of Terrorism
The Joint Committee on Human Rights (JCHR) publishes its First Report of Session 2006-07, The Council of Europe Convention on the Prevention of Terrorism, on Monday 22 January 2007 at 10.00 am as House of Lords Paper HL 26, House of Commons Paper HC 247.
The Convention was signed by the UK on 16 May 2005 and laid before Parliament on 24 July 2006. It has not yet been ratified by the UK. The JCHR is reporting on the Convention as part of its decision to undertake pre-ratification scrutiny of human rights treaties if they raise issues of which Parliament should be made aware.
