Joint Committee on the Draft Mental Incapacity Bill

This draft Bill proposes to reform the law in order to improve and clarify the decision making process for those aged 16 and over who are unable to make decisions for themselves.

Remit: 

The two houses appointed the Joint Committee to consider the Draft Mental Incapacity Bill (Cm 5859), published by the Department for Constitutional Affairs on 27 June 2003, and report by the end of November 2003.
