The humanitarian crisis in the Darfur region of Sudan

Publication of oral evidence

On Tuesday 14th September 2004 the International Development Committee held a one-off evidence session with NGOs looking at the humanitarian crisis in the Darfur region of Sudan.

Evidence was heard from Ms Amelia Bookstein, Conflict Policy Analyst, CAFOD and Mr Graham MacKay, Humanitarian Co-ordinator for Southern, and Horn, East and Central Africa, Oxfam.

The volume of oral and written evidence will be published on Thursday 18 November 2004 at 11.00 a.m. as HC 1058-i.


The Committee is about to begin an inquiry into Darfur, Sudan: Crisis, response and lessons. The first evidence session will be held on Monday 29 November, with Dr Suliman Baldo of the International Crisis Group.
