Session 2008-09, 3 July 2009
MISSING UNACCOMPANIED ASYLUM-SEEKING CHILDREN
This is a one-off evidence session following up the Committee's inquiry into human trafficking. One area of particular concern to the Committee in relation to that inquiry was the evidence about the significant number of suspected child victims of human trafficking who, having entered the UK and been placed in care homes, went missing. It was feared that a significant number of these children had 'escaped' back to their traffickers.
The Committee is taking evidence from:
At 11.30 am
The Deputy Director, Children's Services, Hillingdon Council
At 11.50 am
ECPAT (umbrella organisation for children's charities)
Location: Committee Room 6, Palace of Westminster
The session is expected to last about 1 hour.
