The Home Affairs Committee will conclude its final evidence session of its inquiry into Knife Crime on Tuesday 24 March 2009 with evidence from opposition home affairs spokesmen and the Government.

The Rt Hon Keith Vaz MP, Chairman of the Home Affairs Committee, said:

"In the spirit of building cross-party consensus on the solutions to youth violence, we have invited opposition home affairs spokesmen as well as Government Ministers to give evidence on the most effective approach to knife crime."

Following this session, the Committee will be considering all the evidence it has heard and will publish its conclusions and recommendations in early summer. "
