Knife Crime

The Home Affairs Committee will hold its fourth evidence session of the Committee’s inquiry into Knife Crime on Tuesday 27 January 2009.

The Rt Hon Keith Vaz MP, Chairman of the Home Affairs Committee made the following statement:

"It is becoming clear from our inquiry that offering young people activities outside of school can reduce the likelihood of them becoming involved in crime. We will therefore be asking The Scout Association, and young scout leaders, about the benefits of scout membership for young people, how they can educate young people about weapon carrying and the challenges they face in meeting demand for youth services."
