POLICE AND THE MEDIA
Committee announces one-off evidence session on Police and the Media
The Home Affairs Committee will hold a one-off evidence session on
Tuesday 4 November entitled ‘Police and the Media’.
The session will explore the relationship between the police and the media. In particular, the Committee will question witnesses representing the police, the media and civil rights campaigners about the appropriateness of off-the-record briefings, in which journalists are given confidential details of ongoing investigations by the police.

The session will be open to the public on a first come, first served basis. There is no system for the prior reservation of seats in Committee Rooms. It is advisable to allow about 20 minutes to pass through security checks. Committee room and timing are subject to change.
