THE GOVERNMENT'S COUNTER-TERRORISM PROPOSALS
Oral evidence session
Further to the press notice issued on 6 November announcing additional witnesses, the Committee have now agreed to further additional witnesses as set out below.
On announcing this session, the Chairman of the Committee, the Rt Hon Keith Vaz MP said:
"This session will be a key opportunity for the Committee to gain a better assessment of the strengths of the Government's counter-terrorism proposals, especially with regards to extending the period of detention without charge."
"The Committee is looking to publish the report for this inquiry before the end of the year. Evidence from the Director of Public Prosecutions and former Attorney General Lord Goldsmith QC will be the Committee's final oral evidence session."

The session will be open to the public on a first come, first served basis. There is no system for the prior reservation of seats in Committee Rooms. It is advisable to allow about 20 minutes to pass through security checks. Committee room and timing are subject to change.
