PUBLICATION OF EVIDENCE FOLLOWING CANCELLATION OF INQUIRY
Following the cancellation of the inquiry by the Home Affairs Committee into "Towards Effective Sentencing", it was announced on 9 May that the Committee would publish all oral and written evidence gathered in the course of the inquiry.

The Committee's inquiry was announced on 6 February 2007. One oral evidence session has been held, with Rt Hon The Lord Woolf, former Lord Chief Justice, on 17 April. The cancellation of the inquiry was announced on 9 May.
