HOME AFFAIRS COMMITTEE TO INQUIRE INTO DEPORTATION OF FOREIGN CRIMINALS

At its meeting today the Commons Home Affairs Committee decided to extend the scope of its current inquiry on Immigration Control to cover the events surrounding the detention and removal of foreign criminals released from custody in the UK.

The Committee has made arrangements to take evidence from the Home Secretary Rt Hon Charles Clarke and senior Home Office officials. The Committee will consider whether to take evidence from any further witnesses and will announce these in due course.
