2 Evidence Sessions - Inquiry into Sexual Health

The Health Committee has arranged the following meetings, to be held in public, on

Thursday 9 January 2003  in The Wilson Room, Portcullis House at 11.30 am

Gill Frances, Director of Children's Development, National Children's Bureau

and on Thursday 16 January in the Wilson Room, Portcullis House at 10.30 am

Oral evidence from:

Graduates of 'Young Mums-to-Be' NVQ course, Swindon; 'Sex Talkers' peer education project, Wigan and Leigh; 'Be You' education and support project for homosexual young people, Wigan and Leigh; Peer Group Research Project, Wakefield; and representatives of the National Youth Parliament.

Members of the public and representatives of the press will be admitted to this meeting.

The meeting will be held in the Wilson Room in Portcullis House (entrance from Westminster Bridge). Because there are often last minute changes of rooms and meetings may be held either in the Palace of Westminster or Portcullis House, those wishing to attend should check the venue by contacting the House of Commons Public Information office on 020 7219 4272 on the day of the meeting.

The Committee will examine the effectiveness of the Government's strategy for sexual health in the context of the consultation document 'Better Prevention, Better Services, Better Sexual Health: The National Strategy for Sexual Health and HIV'

The Health Committee is a Select Committee of the House of Commons.  It is appointed under Standing Order No.  152 to examine the expenditure, administration and policy of the Department of Health and associated public bodies.  The Committee has power to send for persons, papers and records.
