Patient and Public Involvement in the NHS

In November the Health Committee announced that it would be carrying out an inquiry into Patient and Public Involvement in the NHS in November. It would like to announce now the witnesses for the first evidence session, and the future dates for evidence sessions, as part of this inquiry.

Further evidence sessions will take place on Thursday 8, Thursday 22 February, and on Thursday 1 March. Details of witnesses for these later sessions will be announced in due course.

Members of the public and representatives of the press will be admitted to these meetings. Meetings may be held either in the Palace of Westminster or Portcullis House, and there are often last minute changes. The Health Committee is a Select Committee of the House of Commons. It is appointed under Standing Order No.152 to examine the expenditure, administration and policy of the Department of Health and associated public bodies. The Committee has the power to send for persons, papers and records.
