Terms of reference


The Committee announced the terms of reference for its inquiry into Workforce needs and planning for the health service on 27 January 2006 (Press Notice No.24). At its meeting of 3 May the Committee changed the name of the inquiry to Workforce planning.

The following evidence sessions have now been arranged as part of this inquiry.

Details of further evidence sessions due to take place on Thursday 8, 15 and 29 June and Thursday 13 and 20 July will be announced in due course.

Members of the public and representatives of the press will be admitted to these meetings. Meetings may be held either in the Palace of Westminster or Portcullis House, and there are often last minute changes. The Health Committee is a Select Committee of the House of Commons. It is appointed under Standing Order No.152 to examine the expenditure, administration and policy of the Department of Health and associated public bodies. The Committee has the power to send for persons, papers and records.
