GLOBAL SECURITY: MIDDLE EAST (GAZA)

ANNOUNCEMENT OF ORAL EVIDENCE SESSION

The Foreign Affairs Committee conducted an inquiry and published a Report on "Global Security: The Middle East" in 2007.* In the light of recent developments in the region, the Committee has decided to take follow-up evidence on this subject.

The Committee will hold its first evidence session on Wednesday 11 February at 2.30pm. The session is likely to cover political, security, humanitarian and legal aspects of the recent conflict in Gaza and prospects for Israeli-Palestinian relations and the Middle East peace process in the light of the conflict, the Israeli general election on 10 February and the change of administration in the US.
