UK Trade and Investment
The Foreign Affairs Committee held a one-off evidence session on UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) on 6 December 2006.
UKTI is the government organisation that supports companies in the United Kingdom trading internationally and overseas enterprises seeking to set up or expand in the United Kingdom. UKTI falls under two parent departments, the FCO and DTI, in respect of their work on international trade and inward investment.
This was the first time in some years that the Committee heard evidence from UK Trade & Investment, who in July 2006 published a new five year strategy
Prosperity in a Changing World. The session presented an opportunity for the Committee to follow up trade aspects of its East Asia inquiry and to ask questions relevant to the current South Asia inquiry.
