Following the publication of his Review on Public Diplomacy, the Foreign Affairs Committee held a one-off evidence session with Lord Carter of Coles.
In 2004, the Foreign Secretary and the then Chief Secretary to the Treasury asked Lord Carter to examine the effectiveness of the Government's public diplomacy work.

The Committee published its report
on 7 April 2006. In this report the Committee considers the Carter Review's recommendations as well as examining the work of the British Council and the BBC World Service.
