The First and Second Joint Reports from the Committees on Strategic Export Controls (the 'Quadripartite Committee') of Session 2002-03 will be published at
Tuesday 20 May as House of Commons Papers 620 and 474.
The Reports continue the work of the four Committees in examining the Government's policy on trade in military equipment and technology. The first Report scrutinises the detail of the Government's proposals for reform and modernisation of the export control system. The second looks at the Government's policy and administration as it stands, concentrating on the Government's most recent Annual Report, that for 2001, which was published in July 2002.
Confidential advance copies of the Reports will be available to witnesses and accredited members of the press from 1100 on Monday 19 May, on application to Ana Ferreira on 020 7219 4300. There will be no press conference, but Roger Berry MP (the Chairman of the Committees' joint meetings) will be available for comment.
