FCO Annual Report 2005-06

The Committee launched its inquiry into the FCO's latest Annual Report on 26 May and will take evidence from the Foreign and Commonwealth Office on Wednesday 28 June. The evidence session will begin at 2.30pm and will be in the Grimond Room, Portcullis House. The officials appearing will be as follows:

  • Sir Michael Jay GCMG, Permanent Under-Secretary of State,

  • Mr Richard Stagg CMG, Director-General, Corporate Affairs,

  • Mr Ric Todd, Director, Finance, and

  • Mr David Warren, Director, Human Resources.

This will be Sir Michael's last appearance before the Committee prior to his retirement in July. 

On Wednesday 12 July the Committee will take evidence from the BBC World Service and the British Council, this session also forms part of the inquiry into the FCO's Annual Report. The meeting will be in the Grimond Room.

At 2.30pm the Committee will take evidence from the BBC World Service. The witnesses will be:

  • Mr Nigel Chapman, Director, and

  • Ms Alison Woodhams, Chief Operating Officer and Director of Finance.

And at approximately 3.30pm from the British Council. The witnesses will be:

  • Sir David Green KCMG, Director-General,

  • Mr Martin Davidson, Deputy Director-General, and

  • Ms Margaret Mayne, Director Finance
