Copenhagen European Council

The European Union is preparing for a summit on the 12th and 13th December in Copenhagen at which 10 states will conclude membership negotiations, paving the way for them to enter the EU in 2004. The Foreign Affairs Committee will hold the following evidence session as part of its ongoing inquiry into Developments in the European Union;

Tuesday 10th December

Time & Location: 4.00pm, The Boothroyd Room, Portcullis House

Witnesses: Rt Hon Jack Straw MP, Secretary of State, and officials, Foreign and Commonwealth Office

The above meetings are open to the public.  Access is via the Main entrance to Portcullis House on the Thames Embankment.  It is advisable to allow about 10 minutes to pass through security checks.  There is no system for the prior reservation of seats in the Boothroyd Room. Committee rooms are subject to change.  Those interested in attending Committee meetings are advised to check the House of Commons Committee Information Line which provides recorded information about forthcoming meetings including venues, subjects under discussion and contact numbers for further information.
