EVIDENCE SESSION ON UK TRADE & INVESTMENT
The Foreign Affairs Committee is holding a one-off evidence session on UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) on Wednesday 6 December.
UKTI is the government organisation that supports companies in the United Kingdom trading internationally and overseas enterprises seeking to set up or expand in the United Kingdom. UKTI falls under two parent departments, the FCO and DTI, in respect of their work on international trade and inward investment.
This will be the first occasion in some years that the Committee has examined witnesses from UK Trade & Investment, who in July 2006 published a new Five Year Strategy-
Prosperity in a Changing World. The session also presents an opportunity to follow up trade aspects of the East Asia inquiry and to ask questions relevant to the current South Asia inquiry.
The meeting will be at
The Grimond Room,
Portcullis House. The witnesses are as follows:
Mr Andrew Cahn CMG, Chief Executive,
Ms Susan Haird, Deputy Chief Executive, and
Mr Asif Ahmad, Director for Asia, UKTI.
