1. WORKS SPENDING: TERMLY REPORT

The Committee took note of the paper. It agreed to request a paper from PICT on mobile phone reception and wireless access within the estate.

2. INSURANCE FOR OFFICIAL VISITS TO WAR ZONES

It was agreed to recommend that select committee staff should ask Members about their personal insurance cover as part of their planning for visits to war zones, and that the Department of Resources should be authorised to pay for cover where personal insurance would be invalidated by such a visit. It was also agreed to review the circumstances in which Members were covered by the House's insurance, with particular reference to the meaning of 'parliamentary business' in this context.

3. PENSION ARRANGEMENTS FOR COLLECTIVELY-EMPLOYED STAFF

It was agreed that the whips of the three main parties should be asked for information about collectively-employed staff, with a view to recommending extension of pension provision in a way which was equitable as between parties.

4. SELECT COMMITTEE TRAVEL TO EU BODIES

It was agreed to recommend that the Commission reject the Liaison Committee's proposal to extend the application of the scheme for travel to EU Institutions using the UK travel budget.

5. COMPUTERS FOR GOVERNMENT WHIPS' OFFICES

The Clerk of the House's decision to authorise ten computers and four printers for the Government Whips' Office to bring about parity between the three main parties was endorsed.
