ORAL EVIDENCE FROM GARETH THOMAS MP, PARLIAMENTARY UNDER-SECRETARY OF STATE, DEPARTMENT FOR INTERNATIONAL DEVELOPMENT, WEDNESDAY 7 MARCH 2007
The session will focus on the effectiveness of the Special Framework of Assistance for Traditional Suppliers of Bananas (SFA), which with preferential trading arrangements due to end in 2006 was devised by the European Commission in 1999 with the aim of either improving the competitiveness of traditional Africa, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) banana production or facilitating diversification into other goods and services.
This evidence session will take place in public at 2.30pm in Committee Room 6, Palace of Westminster.
