2. The Committee met in public for the scrutiny of documents

Draft Report, proposed by the Chairman, brought up and read.

Ordered, That the draft Report be read a second time, paragraph by paragraph.

Paragraphs 1.1 to 8.21 read and agreed to.

Paragraph 8.22 read, as follows:

"We now clear the Communication, since it has been overtaken by events. However, we should be grateful if the Minister would write to us further, both in response to these unanswered questions and with details of what steps have been taken to ensure that an episode such as this is not repeated."

Amendment proposed, in line 2, to leave out from "we" to end of paragraph and insert the words, "ask the Minister to give evidence to us regarding the steps she has taken to ensure that an episode such as this is not repeated". €” ( The Chairman.)
