25 October 2006 NEW EVIDENCE SESSIONS

Policy Appraisal and RIAs
The Environmental Audit Committee has decided to hold two evidence sessions in relation to its inquiry Policy Appraisal and RIAs. The details are as follows:
Tuesday 31 October:
10.20am Environmental Industries Commission
11.00am Anglian Water
Tuesday 7 November:
10.20am Ofgem
11.00am Friends of the Earth
The Committee normally meets in a committee room at Westminster. These sessions are open to the public on a first come, first served basis. There are often last minute changes of room and meetings may be held either in the Palace of Westminster or in Portcullis House. Those wishing to attend should check the venue by calling the committee office information line the day before the hearing on 020 7219 2033.

The Environmental Audit Committee
Under the terms of the Standing Order No. 152A the Environmental Audit Committee is to consider to what extent the policies and programmes of government departments and non-departmental public bodies contribute to environmental protection and sustainable development: to audit their performance against such targets as may be set for them by Her Majesty's Ministers; and to report thereon to the House. The Committee was set up on 13 July 2005.
