The Transport, Local Government and the Regions Committee was established in July 2001 to examine the expenditure, administration and policy of the Department for Transport, Local Government and the Regions (DTLR) and its associated public bodies.

Subsequently, the DTLR also ceased its work.  Its responsibilities have now passed to the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister, and the Department for Transport.

For more information on this change, visit the DTLR's old website at http://www.dtlr.gov.uk/

Responsibility for 'green' environmental matters has passed to the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, overseen by the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs Committee.
