Report to be published

The Environment, Food and Rural Affairs Committee has agreed a report about the Future of Waste Management. 

The Report will be published at 11.00 am on 22 May 2003.  Although there will not be a press conference, a press notice will be issued together with the report, and those wishing to obtain an interview with the Committee are asked to contact the Committee's clerk (on 020 7219 3263) in advance.


The Report will be available in the following ways:

  • Members of the media can collect them from the Press Gallery, House of Commons.

  • They will be sent by post to all witnesses (including those who submitted written evidence), or, if preferred, they can be collected either by witnesses or by their representatives between 11.00 am and 12.00 noon on 22 May, from Westminster House, 7 Millbank, London.

  • The Report will also be available from the usual outlets, including the Stationery Office bookshops (reference: Eighth Report of the Committee, Session 2002-03, HC 385-I).

  • The Report will be posted on the internet at approximately 3.30 pm on 22 May, and will be accessible via the Committee's homepage.


BACKGROUND INFORMATION

The Report follows an inquiry conducted since the New Year by the Committee (which is chaired by David Curry MP).  The Committee took evidence from a wide range of interested parties, and visited sites in the United Kingdom, and in Copenhagen, Denmark.  Fuller details of the inquiry can be found on the Committee's website.
