4 March 2004 Milk Pricing Evidence, Monday 8 March: Change of Time and New Witness

In addition to those witnesses announced in the press notice dated 3 February, the Milk Pricing Sub-Committee of the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs Committee has decided to take evidence from the Federation of Milk Groups. The Federation of Milk Groups (FMG) represents all of the 30 or so milk groups in the UK. The category of ‘milk group’ covers farmer-owned co-operatives and also those groups of farmers who sell their milk to dairies as a bloc. Milk groups account for approximately 40% of the raw milk produced in the UK.

To facilitate this, the meeting will now begin at 4pm on Monday  8 February. The evidence schedule will now be as follows:

Monday 8 March 2004

4.00pm    Federation of Milk Groups
4.30pm    Dairy Industry Association (DIAL)
(approx)
5.00pm    Milk Development Council
(approx)
5.30pm    Lord Whitty, Parliamentary Under-Secretary, Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs
