The Future for UK Fishing:
Visit to Scotland and further evidence sessions announced

The oral evidence scheduled to be taken on The Future for UK Fishing by the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs Committee’s Sub-Committee on The Future for UK Fishing on Tuesday 18 January has been revised.  On 18 January the Committee will now also take evidence from the Scottish Seafood Processors' Federation. The Committee will take evidence in Edinburgh on 17 January and in Aberdeen on 18 January. The schedule is as follows:

Monday 17 January: committee room 2, Scottish Parliament, Edinburgh
12.30 pm             Ross Finnie MSP, Minister for Environment and Rural Development, Scottish Parliament

Following a break for lunch:
2.15 pm               Royal Society of Edinburgh
3.00 pm (approx)  Sea Fish Industry Authority

Tuesday 18 January: room 2, Aberdeen City Council, Aberdeen
11.15 am              Scottish White Fish Producers' Association
11.45 am (approx) Scottish Seafood Processors' Federation
12.15 pm (approx) Fishermen's Association Ltd

As part of its inquiry, the Sub-Committee also intends to undertake an informal visit to Peterhead fish market on the morning of 18 January to talk with the local fishing community.
