REPORT TO BE PUBLISHED ON 30 JANUARY 2004

The Cetacean by-catch Sub-committee of the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs Committee has agreed a report about cetacean by-catch titled Caught in the net: by catch of dolphins and porpoises off the UK coast.

The Report will be published on Friday 30 January 2004 at 00.01 am. Advanced copies of the report will be available under embargo from 11.00 am on Thursday 29 January.

Members of the media wanting further information about the report are asked to call 020 7219 2735.

A press notice will be issued at the same time as the Report is published.

Advanced copies of the Report will be available to members of the media from 11.00 am on Thursday 29 January 2004. These copies will be embargoed until 00.01 am on Friday 30 January 2004. The Report will be available in the following ways:

  • Members of the media can collect them from the Press Gallery, House of Commons.

  • They will be sent by post to all witnesses (including those who submitted written evidence), or, if preferred, they can be collected either by witnesses or by their representatives between 11.00 am and 12.00 noon on Thursday 29 January, from Westminster House, 7 Millbank, London.

  • On 30 January the Report will also be available from the usual outlets, including the Stationery Office bookshops (reference: Third Report of the Committee, Session 2003-04, HC 88).

  • The Report will be posted on the internet at approximately 3.30 pm on 30 January, and will be accessible via the Committee's homepage.
