6 September 2004 Recent changes in Committee Staff

For the information of those individuals and organisations who are in regular contact with the staff of the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs Committee, there have recently been several changes in Committee staff.

Clerk of the Committee

The former clerk of the Committee, Mr Gavin Devine, resigned from the House of Commons service in July 2004. His replacement will be Mr Matthew Hamlyn, a career clerk in the House of Commons, who takes up post on 18 October. In the interim, the Committee’s second clerk, Ms Fiona McLean, is acting as clerk of the Committee.

Environment specialist

The Committee’s former environment specialist, Dr Kate Trumper, has now taken up post as an environment and energy adviser in the Parliamentary Office of Science and Technology (POST). Her replacement will be Dr Antonia James, who takes up post on 18 October.

Inquiry manager

The Committee has a new inquiry manager, Mr Marek Kubala, who takes up post on 8 September.
