10 March 2004 Gangmasters: Oral evidence sessions announced

On 12 February the Committee announced that it would follow up its report, published in September 2003, into gangmasters. It said that it would take oral evidence in March, and that its programme would be announced as soon as possible.

The Committee has now decided its timetable. The following sessions of oral evidence will be held:

Tuesday 16 March  (2.30pm)

Association of Chief Police Officers;
Transport and General Workers Union

Tuesday 23 March (9.40am)

Lord Whitty, Parliamentary Under Secretary, Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs

Tuesday 23 March (11.35am)

Beverley Hughes MP, Minister of State, Home Office, and Chris Pond MP, Parliamentary Under Secretary, Department for Work and Pensions
