INQUIRIES ON THE DEFENCE SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY LABORATORY AND AN UPDATE ON THE DEFENCE INDUSTRIAL STRATEGY
On 7 September 2006, the Defence Committee announced that it was undertaking an inquiry into the work of the Defence Science and Technology Laboratory (DSTL).
The oral evidence session for this inquiry is on Tuesday 28 November. The witnesses are DSTL management followed by the Ministry of Defence’s Chief Scientific Adviser.

On 14 July 2006, the Defence Committee announced that it was undertaking an inquiry into the progress made in implementing the DIS and the extent to which the expected benefits were being delivered.
The DIS was published on 15 December 2005, and the Committee published its report on 10 May 2006 (Committee's Seventh Report of Session 2005-06 (HC 824).
The oral evidence session for this inquiry is on Tuesday 19 December with Lord Drayson, Minister for Defence Procurement.
The Committee had sought written evidence by Friday 17 November. The deadline for written evidence has been extended until Friday 1 December.
