BETTER OPPORTUNITIES FOR DISABLED PEOPLE - DOES THE DRAFT DISABILITY DISCRIMINATION BILL DELIVER?


The Joint Committee on the Draft Disability Discrimination Bill publishes its report on Thursday 27th May at 00.01.

The Chairman of the Committee, Lord Carter, will be available for media interviews at certain times on Wednesday 26th May (under embargo) and on Thursday 27th.

1.The Draft Disability Discrimination Bill was published by the Government in December 2003. It seeks to amend the Disability Discrimination Act 1995 and is designed to improve rights and opportunities for disabled people.

It covers a wide range of areas including transport, employment, housing and public authorities.
