Publication of Committee Report on Harmful Content on the Internet and in Video Games

The Culture, Media and Sport Committee will publish its Report, Harmful Content on the Internet and in Video Games, on Thursday 31 July 2008 at 00.01 (Tenth Report, Session 2007-08, HC 353-I).

The Report reaches conclusions and recommendations on:

• Risks from the Internet, particularly social networking sites and sites hosting user-generated content;

• Ways of protecting Internet users from potentially harmful content;

• Safe use  of social networking sites; and

• Classification of video games.

Hard copies of the Report and published evidence will be posted on Wednesday 30 July to anyone who gave oral or written evidence to the inquiry. Electronic copies of the Report can also be supplied to witnesses and to the media by prior arrangement with Committee staff, who can be contacted at [email protected]
