The Constitutional Affairs Committee and Committee on the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister: Housing, Planning, Local Government and the Regions will be publishing their Joint Report on Electoral Registration on Thursday 24 March 2005 at 00:01.

Advance embargoed copies of the Report will be available on Wednesday 23 March in the Press Gallery at 11.00, and to witnesses and other media from the Committee Office, 7 Millbank, London SW1P 3JA (please use the entrance on Dean Stanley Street).

The joint inquiry will be investigating a number of issues including: the advantages of individual registration; strategies for encouraging registration; issues of geographic and ethnic variations in levels of registration; alternative registration systems; difficulties experienced by those unable to complete forms; availability, confidentiality and security of the register.
