The Committee of Public Accounts Debate
Twice a year a debate is held in the House of Commons Chamber to 'take note' of all PAC reports which have been published and to which the Government have replied since the last debate. In recent years these debates have been used as a means of raising major issues concerning the Committee. The debate is usually opened by the Chairman and is replied to by the Financial Secretary to the Treasury - a member of the Committee.
