Publication of oral and written evidence: The work of the Government Equalities Office
Today the Communities and Local Government Committee published the transcript of the oral evidence session held with Maria Eagle MP, Minister of State, and Jonathan Rees, Director General, Government Equalities Office on 25 January 2010, and accompanying written evidence as The work of the Government Equalities Office.
The issues discussed in the oral evidence session include:
the gender pay gap
proposals in the Equality Bill to compel larger companies to publish their gender pay gaps by 2013
funding for rape crisis centres,
the Stern Review
implementation of the Corston Review on women in the criminal justice system
the work and leadership of the Equality and Human Rights Commission.
The written evidence also includes a clarification from the Minister of State on whether the provisions in the Equality Bill will affect future job advertisements.
