Oral Evidence Session

The Children, Schools and Families Committee will be taking formal oral evidence as follows:

Followed by at approximately 4.45pm:

Evidence from: Martyn Coles, Principal, City of London Academy (Southwark); Jean Hickman, Principal, Walsall Academy; Graham Badman, Managing Director, Children, Families and Education, Kent County Council; and Lucy Heller, Managing Director, ARK Schools, ARK (Absolute Return for Kids).

This session follows on from the one held on Wednesday 30 January which looked broadly at the effects of a diverse system and what is known about the characteristics of different types of school in terms of performance, intake and other related issues.

The purpose of this meeting is to examine academies and their place within the school system.

The session will also be open to the public on a first come, first served basis. There is no system for the prior reservation of seats in Committee Rooms. It is advisable to allow about 20 minutes to pass through security checks. Committee rooms and timings are subject to change.
