ORAL EVIDENCE SESSION: THE UK CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY

The Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform Committee today announces the fourth oral evidence session of its inquiry into the UK construction industry. The aim of this session is to hear the views of the main trade associations representing specialist contractors. The Committee will also be taking evidence from representatives of the homebuilding sector. The Committee will take a particular interest in:

· Government’s progress in promoting integrated working in the sector;

· The functioning of the Housing Grants, Construction and Regeneration Act 1996;

· The capacity of the homebuilding sector to achieve zero-carbon homes by 2016;

· Progress in increasing the rate of homebuilding; and

· Skills availability.

The session will be open to the public on a first come, first served basis. There is no system for the prior reservation of seats in Committee Rooms.
